James Franco, From ‘General Hospital’ to ‘30 Rock’
By · CommentsA feature film star going to soap opera, James Franco will hop on one more wagon to star on “30 Rock“. Entertainment Weekly has reported that he will follow up his “General Hospital” stint with a guest star appearance on the primetime Emmy Award-winning comedy. Unlike in the soap drama, his appearance on “30 Rock” is likely a one-time stint.
NBC has not given its official statement regarding the casting but EW has provided a bit of information on how he would incorporate to the story. An insider said that Franco will play himself and he will be involved in a “faux romance” with Jane Krakowski’s Jenna, a courtesy of their respective agents.
Back in September, writer slash star Tina Fey has hinted this kind of storyline, telling EW, “[Jenna gets] into a high-profile relationship with a movie star that is arranged by their agents.” The plan is, Franco would start filming his part this week.
Meanwhile, the first look of the “Milk” star in “General Hospital” has been shared by Soap.net. There is still no word yet what character he is playing on the daytime show, but it was reported back then that he is a mystery man not involved in any of the hospital procedure. Franco will stay at the Port Charles for at least two months starting November 20.

30 Rock Episode 4 Season 3 “Stone Mountain” Recap
By · CommentsLiz and Jack set out to find a new cast member from “real America.”
What they find, in venturing to Kenneth’s homeland of Georgia, is that “real” America does note exist. Or at least not in the way they thought it did. The real America as 30 Rock ultimately sees it is all the same, even if it’s not flattering.
Poor Liz Lemon thinks Middle America is San Francisco and Canada.
This season’s plot, finding another cast member to be a regular on TGS, is ongoing, and Jack and Liz going to Kenneth’s hometown to find “real” comics made sense, and was hilarious.
Why Kenneth didn’t go with them to show them around is a bit puzzling, but he offered great comic relief in New York in spite of that omission.
This was a Halloween episode, too, so we saw Frank, Lutz and Toofer being friendly to Jenna just so they can go to her gay friends’ Halloween party.
Why? Because there will be hot chicks. Did we even need to explain that?
First Look: Padma Lakshmi on ‘30 Rock’
By · Comments“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi will share the screen with Alec Baldwin next month in a “30 Rock” episode. The first looks of her appearing as herself have been shared by NBC, giving a preview that she will discuss culinary with Jack in his office.
The episode is called “The Problem Solvers” and it will air on November 12. According to the synopsis, the new actor starts work at “TGS,” and after observing how low maintenance he is, Tracy and Jenna begin to rethink how they treat Kenneth. Meanwhile, Jack offers Liz her own talk show, but Jenna convinces her to explore all of her options first.
Lakshmi is one of the very few guest stars coming to the usually celebrity-packed comedy. While last season boasts performances from Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston among others, this season is quite scarce in terms of guests. Jack McBrayer aka Kenneth explained, “We haven’t blown it out of the water with guest stars this year. [The writers] are trying to focus on the usual cast of players. I like that because that’s how it all started – just us interacting in the workplace.”
One celebrity that Tina Fey has been trying to get is Justin Timberlake. He won a Creative Arts Emmy earlier this year for Best Actor in Comedy while Fey won the Best Actress.

Check out a first look at 30 ROCK Season 4 Episode 3 “Stone Mountain” airing this Thursday October 29 at 8pm on NBC. It is not labeled as a Halloween episode but I am going to give to give that label anyways since there seems to be some costume.

First Look Into ‘30 Rock’ Season 4
By · Comments“30 Rock“, the latest primetime show to get a season premiere this Fall, has finally revealed the first look into the fourth season. Several photos are released by NBC for the promotion of the first episode which will air on October 15.
In the season opener, Jack informs Liz, Tracy and Jenna that “TGS” needs to make immediate adjustments to become more relatable and save money during recession. In an effort to do their part, Jenna decides to makeover her image, while Tracy attempts to regain touch with the common man.
In the meantime, Jack sends Liz and Pete on a mission to scout new “TGS” talent while Kenneth leads a Page strike. According to the official synopsis, Steve Buscemi makes a return as Lenny Wosniak.
On another news, the show that won big at recent Primetime Emmy Awards reportedly has recruited Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson to join the cast. NBC is yet to give a confirming statement and may release a formal statement “later on this week”, E! Online said.

30 Rock – Casting News – Betty White to Cameo
By · CommentsVeteran actress BETTY WHITE is making a cameo in TINA FEY’s show 30 ROCK – after ALEC BALDWIN decided the veteran actress should join the comedy series.
The Golden Girls star agreed to appear as herself on the forthcoming season after she was approached by the series’ creator to film scenes.
But Baldwin reveals cast members weren’t choosy about who they landed for a star turn – because they drew the names of potential candidates at random.
He tells Access Hollywood, “We all put names in a hat, and we took a vote, if you could have one guest star for the whole season, who would it be? And Betty White was the winner!”
And White isn’t the only star lined up for a role – Fey is convinced Justin Timberlake would be an ideal choice to appear on 30 Rock.
She adds, “We should track him down. He’d be good. I’m sure he’d totally do it – he’s not busy.”
